AROUND TOWN
The Bulldogs buried Lake Minneola. 50 to 13 at home Friday night, and they're 3 and 1. No game this week. They're back September 25 at Lake Nona. Harmony went the other way, down 34 to 7 against Gateway, now 1 and 3.
The Chamber has a new interim director. Dana Wells stepped in on September 10. She runs Levee Liquors and Gas and Sunshine Coaching Group, and she already sat on the Chamber board. Dirk Webb retires September 30 after he hands it off.
534 got closer. CFX walked residents through Phase 2 at Narcoossee Middle on Wednesday night. It runs 3.5 miles from east of Narcoossee Road out to Cyrils Drive. Dirt moves in 2027 and part of it opens in 2030.
There's $5 million sitting there for local arts venues. Osceola County put tourist tax money into a two year grant program for museums, theaters and historic buildings. Nonprofits that have been here two years can apply for roofs, HVAC, accessibility work. Applications close October 16.

The canal that ties it to East Lake Toho, Canal 31, cuts three miles straight through the west side of town. You've crossed it without thinking about it.
