St. Cloud is officially the fastest growing city in Osceola County. Population grew almost 20% since 2020, and the Heritage project is expected to break ground late this year with a grocery anchored plaza, restaurants, medical offices, two hotels, and about 600 apartments.
Rivers Edge Academy wraps its school supply drive today. Swing by their Friars Cove campus between 4 and 6pm, drop off supplies for local students, and grab a novelty ice cream or Italian ice while you're there.

Before the veterans, this was sugar country. In the late 1880s Hamilton Disston planted more than 1,000 acres of sugarcane on East Lake Toho and built a $350,000 mill that could crush 372 tons of cane a day, one of the most advanced in the country. His plantation was called St. Cloud. The town took the name, and a little railroad called the Sugar Belt hauled the cane.
