Meet Texas Roadhouse St. Cloud
It opened quietly in early April and the ribbon cutting went fast. Texas Roadhouse is officially in St. Cloud at 2500 Partin Settlement Road. If you haven't been yet, you already know what you're getting. Fresh-baked rolls before your food arrives, hand-cut steaks, and a volume level that says everyone around you is having a good time. It's a chain, yes. But it's also the kind of place that fills up with St. Cloud families on a Friday night and becomes part of the community fabric. Worth knowing it's here.

The building on Massachusetts Ave that held the second largest GAR post in the country
The G.A.R. Memorial Hall at 1101 Massachusetts Ave, where Tuesday's Historic Preservation Awards are being held, is one of the last remaining structures associated with the Grand Army of the Republic in the entire United States. Built in 1914 by Union veterans using $8,000 in stock certificates, it became the meeting place of the Lucius L. Mitchell Post No. 34, named for the first veteran to die in the St. Cloud colony. At its height, St. Cloud's GAR post was the largest in Florida and the second largest in the country. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. If you've never been inside, Tuesday night is a good excuse to go.
